FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often — from what to bring to your first visit to how we handle insurance and everyday dental care.
Visits & Appointments
- What should I bring to my first appointment?
- Bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications, and any completed patient forms. You can download forms from our website to fill out before your visit.
- What are your office hours?
- We are open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We are closed on weekends.
- Where is your office located?
- We are located at 25 E. Washington St., Suite 1707, Chicago, IL 60602 — in the heart of downtown Chicago, convenient for Loop residents and office workers.
- How often should I visit the dentist?
- The ADA recommends annual dental exams and cleanings. Patients with periodontal disease, chronic conditions, or smoking habits may benefit from more frequent visits.
Insurance & Cost
- What insurance do you accept?
- We accept most major insurance providers including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of IL, Cigna, Connection Dental, Delta Dental Premier, DNOA, Guardian, Humana, MetLife, United Healthcare, Unicare, United Concordia, and Zelis. We also file out-of-network claims on your behalf.
- Are you in-network with my insurance?
- In-network means we have a contract with your insurance company to accept their negotiated rates, which typically lowers your out-of-pocket cost. Out-of-network doesn't mean your insurance won't pay — most plans still offer out-of-network benefits, and we file claims on your behalf to help maximize your reimbursement. Call us and we'll verify your specific benefits before your visit.
- How do I know what my treatment will cost?
- We'll explain your insurance estimate and out-of-pocket expenses before beginning any treatment.
- What if I don't have dental insurance?
- We offer competitive rates for patients without insurance coverage and accept FSA/HSA funds for most dental procedures. We also offer CareCredit and Sunbit financing options with flexible monthly payments.
- Do you offer financing?
- Yes. We partner with Sunbit and CareCredit to offer flexible monthly payment plans. Sunbit offers a soft credit check that won't impact your score, and CareCredit offers promotional financing on qualifying purchases.
Everyday Dental Care
- How often should I floss?
- Flossing once per day helps prevent cavities from forming between the teeth where your toothbrush can't reach. Flossing also helps keep your gums healthy.
- What kind of toothbrush should I use?
- A soft toothbrush with a small head is recommended. Medium and hard brushes tend to cause irritation and contribute to recession of the gums. The brand is less important than the bristle type and head size.
- Is one brand of toothpaste better than another?
- Generally, no. However, it's advisable to use a fluoride-containing toothpaste to decrease the incidence of dental decay. We recommend using what tastes good to you as long as it contains fluoride.
- What is a CBCT 3D X-ray?
- Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) creates digital 3D images of your mouth and skull in approximately ten seconds. Unlike traditional 2D X-rays, 3D scans can identify problems that flat images cannot, with up to 98.5% less radiation than medical CT scans.
